The process of self-realization is unfolding from tight and rigid ways of thinking to flexible and open to life’s ups and downs.  It’s okay not to feel okay all the time. It’s okay to have “bad” days or feel out of balance or be sad or frustrated.  It’s not so much about how you feel vs. what you do with those feelings.

Be Ok With You

One of the principles of releasing the narrative (looping) of the mind is not to judge personal experiences. Instead, it’s best to have neutral responses to life. I found using the word “oh” as a comment is often an excellent way to prevent the ego from engaging and having an unconscious reaction. Both “oh” and “out” are suitable neutralizers.

Judging personal experiences often pulls you out of balance and into a negative repertoire that perpetuates old patterning. Next time you experience something new or familiar, work on staying in a neutral zone about the situation. Especially don’t find fault in you due to the experience. Keeping the mind still will take practice.

Allow everything in life to have its place. What does this mean? It means for you not to place commentary onto experiences. There’s no need to attach any added judgment to new experiences. For example, you take a hot air balloon ride for the first time. Everything went fine, getting in, going up and flying around was fun and exhilarating. Now back on the ground, enjoy the experience. Take what you need from it. It uplifted you made you happy, and you saw a different perspective.

Judgment would say something negative or limiting about the balloon ride.  For example, after having a fun time, you criticize something. The balloon didn’t go high enough, or something else wasn’t perfect enough.  You can see the difference between the two energetics. One is allowing, and one is closed.

Allow the experience to give you precisely what you need. Keep the mind in the here and now and not wandering into the future or past.

Self-Awareness

Self-awareness might seem obvious to some people, but for other’s, it’s not too noticeable. Being self-aware means, you are aware of how you feel and what you are thinking and why. You listen to the mind objectively and can sort out the BS from the more critical mental details.

Self-awareness is mindfulness. It’s the key to awakening. Mindfulness is being present with how you feel and not make excuses for whatever you do or think. The more you can stay neutral, the more you gain self-awareness. From self-awareness comes embracing all parts of yourself.

Self-realization then is the waking up to loving all the bits of you without placing judgment or criticizing anything that has to do with you and your relationship with yourself.  It’s staying neutral and having a still mind.  Once here, you’ll love your humanness and fall in love with your-self.

Practice

Now practice staying neutral. Use the word “oh” instead of adding your two cents to anything. Be still and not be pulled in the past or future. Be in the here and now. Let me know howyou do. My personal email is info@kumaridevi.org.
