Fear is all around us and every day we are confronted with some type of fear from the dentist’s office, driving, evening news, the job, with our children and spouses. There’s so much uncertainty in society now, we are faced with more fear than we thought was possible.

What is Fear?

Fear is it a built-in survival (fight or flight) mechanism. Even as infants we possess survival instincts necessary to respond when danger is present. Fear is a reaction that involves both the mind and body and triggers brain responses that cause the heart rate and blood pressure to increase immediately. Every time you experience a reaction from fear you lose a part of yourself to fear.

Fear is remarkably abundant, and it’s something that constantly bombards you on a daily basis. It is a powerful force, causing you to put restraints on the things that you want to do most.

In Buddhism, the Buddha referred to fear as a delusion or a distorted way of looking at life. In Hinduism, fear is also an illusion and exists from a stored memory. While, spirituality says, “If there is fear, there is no love, and if there is love, there is no fear.”  Fear has a history in our culture. Everyone knows what fear is and how it’s a life-stopper.

Emotional fear is triggered by real or perceived situations. Fear is a response from past experiences, especially from childhood. Now as an adult, subconscious fear triggers bodily responses from forgotten memories, and you react. The same fear patterns repeat over and over again.

What kind of impact does fear have on your everyday life? Do you let fear control decisions?

Wouldn’t it be nice to live with fear rather than fighting against it all the time? Take a minute to imagine what your life would be like if fear wasn’t a threat?

What Would You Create?

What would you create if you knew how to change the scary, tense aspects of fear and make it a friend instead? What would you do differently?

  • Fear stops you from listening to your spiritual guidance and allows doubt to creep in
  • Fear stops you from perusing your true spiritual path
  • Fear stops you from taking action in life

Wouldn’t it be amazing to live in balance with fear and have no limits?  There is so much that you could do.

  • Would you follow your soul?
  • Would you change the world?
  • Would you dance with a stranger?

The memory associated with fear is the culprit. It stops you in your tracks and closes the doors to future opportunities. This keeps you seeking safety, rather than venturing out and living life.

Let’s change your relationship with fear right now and embrace Fear as a friend instead.  No more fear!! Become fearless.
