Peace comes from the realization that in every moment you have the power to focus on calmness instead of being controlled by the external influences, other people, and old programming. It takes an effort, but it can be done.
Here are four essential steps to practice to implement into your life today.
- Connect with your heart
- Shuffle your feet to stay in the present moment
- Trust yourself
- Resolve the commentary in your mind. What words, phrases, or scenarios repeat in your mind?
I know, it does sound simple, but in truth, peeling the layers are often challenging because of the programming of the subconscious mind is active, and those thought patterns are deep.
I often talk about the ego and how it likes to control situations. The ego is part of the subconscious mind. It was established in childhood, and unless you’ve done a lot of work on your inner self, it’s still running the show.
Notice, what’s being repeated in your mind daily. What do you hear in mind? Ask yourself, how you can unhook from that situation?
Then imagine letting go of a handful of stones you’ve been holding for a long time. See the rocks falling to the ground and then imagine yourself walking away from them. Let go and move on. If you feel pulled to examine the rocks again after you dropped them, something else is holding you back and needs to resolve.
The above visualization is an easy way to unhook the mind from repetitive thoughts. By letting go, you unhook the mind from the past.
The greatest inner peace comes when you recognize that it exists right now, peel away the veil of the illusion of stress, hardships, hurt, anger, fear, and anger away, and allow peace to flow into everything you do.
